Department of Geriatric Psychiatry

Founded in August 2007, the Department of Geriatric Psychiatry has been actively engaged in clinical services, scientific research and medical education. The department has one associate director, three attending physicians, multiple clinical practitioners, and a nursing team. It has a beautiful environment with large open space and easy access to natural fresh air, suitable for rehabilitation.

Population served:

Elderly over 60 years old with mental health issues, including various geriatric mental disorders and dementia.

There is a memory center in this department specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of dementia. In addition to the routine use of medication, this center also covers all-around rehabilitation needs of patients:

1. Physical rehabilitation: mainly referring to post-mental-illness physical conditions, including body pain, dizziness, and insomnia

2. Psychological rehabilitation: post-mental-illness social function impairment

Social rehabilitation: helping patients to live and interact in social settings like ordinary people, instead of being isolated; providing free, government-funded GPS tracker bracelets to help bring seniors home.
