Remote Care

With remote care service, a doctor sees a patient face-to-face online. Same as for in-person visit, the doctor collects information on patients’ general medical history, conducts diagnostic analysis, and provides guidance and treatment recommendations. Professor Shi has been practicing psychiatry for 37 years. His primary research interests entail the diagnosis, treatment techniques and pathogenesis of depression, anxiety disorder and schizophrenia. As the associate group lead of Chinese Classification of Mental Disorders (CCMD-3), he has conducted a long-term follow-up study on Schizo-Affective Disorder, a study on comorbid depression and anxiety, an international collaborative study on female unipolar depression (converge study), a series of study on the influencing factors of postpartum depression, and efficacy of group psychological intervention for pregnant women.

He has published 144 research papers, 58 reviews, 17 books as the editor-in-chief or associate editor-in-chief and contributed to 22 books as part of the editorial board.

Upon his graduation from the Xiangya School of Medicine of Central South University in 1986, he started working in the Department of Psychiatry at the People's Hospital of Wuhan University, where he served as a resident, Attending Physician, Associate Chief Physician, Associate Professor, Chief Physician, and Professor.

 

In 2002, he took a position at Beijing Anding Hospital. He was the first advisor in Beijing Anding Hospital who guided Master’s student to publish SCI papers, thus winning the Outstanding Advisor Award of Capital Medical University. He has also been active in psychological counseling. As a review expert invited by the head of the expert group for psychological counselor examinations of the Ministry of Labor, he served multiple times on the review panel for the certification of level-2 psychological counselors.

Diagnosis and classification of mental disorders, adolescent mental disorders and psychological problems, school refusal, geriatric mental disorders and psychological problems.

Upon his graduation from the Medical College of Wuhan University in 1982, Dr. Zhao started his career at Jingzhou Psychiatric Hospital in Hubei Province. He roles include Director, Vice President, and President.

From 1986 to 1987, he studied in a postgraduate program at the Sixth Hospital of Peking University.

In 1992, he studied at the University of Washington for over a year. In 2000, he studied at the EMBA program of National University of Singapore

In 2002 he travelled to UK, Norway, Sweden and Finland as a visiting scholar.

From 2000 to 2017, he served as VP for Medical Affairs at Beijing Minkang Hospital.

Since 2004, Dr. Zhao has been listed as a Well-Recognized Expert for Outpatient Services at the Sixth Hospital of Peking University. He is currently a professor, researcher, Director of Biochemistry Research Office at the Institute of Mental Health, Peking University. He is also the Chairman of the Society of Psychiatry, Chinese Medical Association, Standing Editorial Board Member of Chinese Journal of Psychiatry, an editorial board member of Health World - a Chinese popular science magazine, and a board member of Beijing Neuroscience Association.


He has 15 years of clinical experiences focusing on affective disorders. He also specializes in the treatment of affective disorders comorbid with endocrine disorders.


In the area of education, he teaches biological psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatric Health. He also teaches biochemistry of psychiatry for visiting scholars and national training classes for teachers in psychiatry.

Dr. Zhou has published 70 research papers including 20 SCI papers on international journals.
