2012: Key Subspecialty of Wenzhou City (General Psychiatry)

2011: Accredited for Distinctive Clinical Subspecialty for Non-Public Medical Institution of Zhejiang Province (Clinical Psychology), passed acceptance review in 2016

2012: Accredited for National Key Clinical Specialty (Psychiatry) and has also passed the acceptance review online

2015:Accredited for Distinctive Clinical Subspecialty for Non-Public Medical Institution of Zhejiang Province (Behavioral Medicine), passed acceptance review in 2019

2019:Accredited for Key Subspecialty of Wenzhou City (Women’s Mental Health)

Latest Report on Academic Research

Since 2010, a total of 27 research grants have been awarded at bureau level, 57 municipal, six provincial, one provincial -and-ministerial and one Provincial Natural Science Fund; total number of publications: 25 SCI, 30 Level I, 113 Level II, seven national and 68 municipal.

Clinical Services


1. Standardized Residency Training

2011:Accredited as part of the first group of Provincial Standardized Residency Training Base (Psychiatry) of Zhejiang Province

July 2015: In partnership with the Second Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University – a National Base for Standardized Residency Training, started officially undertaking rotational teaching tasks in psychiatry as part of the consortium

August 2017:Signed with Wenzhou Central Hospital an agreement for National Standardized Residency Training Base consortium

November 2018:Joint Inpatient Ward (Psychiatry) with the Second Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University

Quality of teaching demonstrated steady growth, resulting in 100% pass rates of all residents in both theoretical examination and clinical practice for two years in a row, 2019 and 2020.

2020: Accredited as a National Base for Standardized Residency Training in Psychiatry

2. Clinical Skill Center

The Clinical Skill Training Center of The Affiliated Kangning Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University has built its foundation with advanced simulation equipment, providing the capacity for fundamental teaching, skill training and practice assessment. The center’s facility entails a first aid training room, an internal & external medicine training room, a nursing training room and a study hall and administrative office. It is also equipped with cardiopulmonary resuscitation model, venipuncture model, universal patient simulator, medical monitor, and defibrillator.


As a national Class III Grade A psychiatric hospital, it has also set up a specialty training room,  with psychological testing system, biofeedback, heart rate variation analysis, cognitive training system, MECT, and transcranial magnetic stimulation devices .

3. Internship Training

Teaching plans for interns are made according to internship guidelines for higher institutions. The departments related will make teaching plans, arrange teachers, provide tracking and supervision for students’ attendance, discipline and examinations. Campus wide seminars (small lectures), teaching rounds and practical skills exercises will also be provided. 


In March 2016, Kangning co-founded School of Mental Health with Wenzhou Medical University. Since the summer of 2016, it has enrolled 88 undergraduates (30 transferred from other majors) and 8 postgraduate students. In the summer of 2017, it enrolled 93 undergraduate students and 10 postgraduate students. In the summer of 2018, it enrolled 158 undergraduates and 10 postgraduate students. In the summer of 2019, it will enroll 155 undergraduate students and 20 postgraduate students. At present, there are 494 undergraduates and 48 postgraduates.

 

4. Training Base for Interns and Visiting Students

Since 2013,Kangning has served as the clinical training base for more than 500 interns, visiting students and residents from Wenzhou Medical University, Qiqihar Medical College, Bengbu Medical College and other well-known medical colleges/universities, hospitals/medical institutions of all levels. It has provided rotational training for subspecialities including clinical psychology, psychosomatic medicine, psychogeriatrics and behavioral medicine, early intervention in mental health and mental rehabilitation. The training assessment includes process assessment and graduation assessment. The process assessment covers quizzes and completion assessments which include medical ethics, attendance, activity participation.
