Professors from the University of Alberta, Canada, Visit Wenzhou Kangning Hospital for Exchange

Today (May 8th), Professor Jacqueline R. Pei and Associate Professor Yifeng Wei from the University of Alberta, Canada, visited The Affiliated Kangning Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, for an exchange. They toured the Center for Child and Adolescent Mental Health to observe their operations, focusing on Wenzhou Kangning's mental health services for children and adolescents.

 

The two professors serve as foreign supervisors for the joint graduate program in psychiatry between Wenzhou Medical University's School of Mental Health and the University of Alberta. They have long been engaged in psychological research and the development of mental health literacy.

 

Professor Jacqueline R. Pei and Associate Professor Yifeng Wei highly praised Wenzhou Kangning's professionalism and innovation in the field of child and adolescent mental health. They also experienced traditional Chinese medicine culture through an immersive visit to the Traditional Chinese Medicine Psychiatry Department.

 

During a discussion meeting, Wang Lianyue, the president of Wenzhou Kangning Hospital, provided an overview of the hospital's development. The University of Alberta, Wenzhou Medical University’s School of Mental Health, and Wenzhou Kangning Hospital discussed scientific research cooperation, the introduction of high-level talent, and the construction of a mental health service system integrating medicine, education, family, and community. Xu Dongwu, Party Secretary of the School of Mental Health at Wenzhou Medical University, also attended the meeting.

 

Following this, Professor Jacqueline R. Pei and Associate Professor Yifeng Wei conducted themed lectures at Wenzhou Kangning Hospital.

In the future, the three parties will engage in more comprehensive and deeper medical, educational, and research collaborations to make greater contributions to the field of mental health.
